ah, the lottery

I know you must be tired of it by now, but here's some more wisdom from our esteemed, "intelligent," and fearless leader.

"The system is less about justice and more about somethin' that looks like the lottery... And with the plaintiff's bar gettin' as much as 40% of any verdict, sometimes there's only one winner in the lottery."*

George W. Bush
January 16, 2003
Referring to current medical liability laws. Scranton, Pennsylvania.

If anyone can decode this quote for me, I think I might rank you among our nation's geniuses (or maybe you have to be dumb to think this makes sense).

nah, it's all good. the guy says some pretty dumbass shit.

and he stole our fifth ammendment rights with the patriot act. i bet our founding fathers are rolling over in their graves.

and we'll never get those rights back.

nah, we could get those rights back someday. no matter how important and scary john ashcroft thinks he is, and no matter how many rights he thinks he can take away, i thank god for the supreme court, which has the ability to shove the patriot act right back up ashcroft's ass where it came from...it'll happen one day soon, i hope. i can't wait to see the look on ashcroft's face when he realizes that he's not god.

I dont think much of what Bush says makes sense.

I mean there are a few glimmers here and there but they are all from speech writers.

I hate to tell you, but unlike most of what he says, this DOES make sense.

He's saying that the lawyers get all the $$, and since the system is no longer about justice and more about the $$, the lawyers are the only ones getting anything out of it.

It didn't seem that hard to "decode" to me.

I GET what he's saying, but that's because I'm intelligent (and obviously so are you), not because this quote actually makes sense. It's inarticulate and confusing, but if you think it makes sense then more power to you.
